I'm a little shaken tonight

Just got the news that Mike Connell has died in a plane crash.

Who is Mike Connell? I blogged about him before I knew his name. He was the head of the consulting firm that helped Karl Rove set up alternate email accounts for the White House. He did this to help the Bush White House conceal emails they did not want on the public record, probably because they were ordering illegal activities.

When an email administrator is in this position, the best option is to leave. There are so many things that can go wrong on so many levels when you help people deceive that it's not worth it in any way. At best you'll be the fall guy for technical problems, at worst you have a convenient plane crash.

Derailing "Conscience"

Too bad I don't work at a drugstore. My conscience tells me that it's a sin to provide Viagra to unattractive men. God tells me who's attractive or not.

So What do Southern Republicans Want?

They want to go back to the old south. A landed aristocracy, lots of people working for nothing, no industry to speak of. They want us all back on the plantation, black, white, or Mexican.

The absolute disdain for people's lives expressed today by Mitch McConnell and Richard Shelby is much more destructive than Blago's bribe demands. And I did not vote for him in the last election - I hated both major candidates so much I left the governor choice blank.

These Republicans will damage the country more than Bin Laden could ever dream of. With luck, in 2 years we'll get the dead enders out of the Senate. At least Fitzgerald caught Blago before he could kill any people, much less a whole industry.
